| This beautiful 1957 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud
Bentley S-1 (four door,slightly stretched H.J. Mulliner coachworks) is orginally equipped
with the rare right hand drive. It also had the optional power steering and on board
lubrication system. The on board lubrication system consists of a pedel located below the
dash on the drivers side which when pumped about every 700 to 1,000 miles provides
lubrication to all points on the suspension and steering. The regal grey interior speaks
with a hushed tone to the descriminating owner, the quiteness, smoothness and workmanship
of the 4.887-liter normally aspirated (twin intake, twin exhaust) six cylinder engine is
legendary. Driving this vehicle can best be experienced as being in an altered dream like
state. One imagines the clouds opening up and angels heralding your approach!
Mechanically, this car is extremely sound. It has 68K documented mileage and has recieved
superior service as indicated in available service records. The interior has all of the
Rolls Royce ammenities: Fold down picnic tables, ashtrays, and Vanity mirrors set in the
rear quarters at head height. Burled woodwork is the interior scheme. The exterior is of
the classic black and grey that made the mustard grey poupon so popular. Both interior and
exterior are in museum showroom condition. The original radio is of the tube type and
works well however, it is of the U.K. frequency and will not draw stations in the U.S. The
exterior antanna is controlled by a knob located in the interior. Rear petrol hatch is
controlled by switch located on the dash. It is doubtful if you can find a better example
of a roadworthy 1957 such as this. Price as noted is $32,500. Respectfully, |
